Valley woman specializes in polymer clay earrings

Posted on 21/11/2025 By Syifa

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — The creations Janelle Solis is putting in the oven aren’t the edible kind.

The owner of Jes Clay makes handmade polymer clay earrings.

“I feel like my earrings have a little bit of me in them because that’s something I would wear too, so I feel comfortable promoting it,” she said.

Three years in business, the Fresno Pacific University grad and social worker started creating wearable art during the pandemic.

“I found that as the right time to go into a hobby,” she said.

As does any artist, Janelle creates her own designs and colors.

“You have your primary colors — blue, red, white, black, yellow, green,” she said. “Then, what you do is cut them into blocks to make a nude color or a light pink color.”

We got a peek at her home studio to show you the process.

“After it’s conditioned, I roll it back onto my tile,” she said. “I’ll put a texture or screen print on it, and then I will use a cutter and I will cut them out, take them off of my tiles, transfer them onto the computer paper with a baking tray and bake them.”

After that,

Posted on 13/11/2025 By Syifa

EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) – Investigators are on the hunt for a woman wanted for a string of robberies at jewelry stores in San Diego County and possibly, elsewhere.

Late December, at the Daniel’s Jewelers at Parkway Plaza. Around 2 p.m., El Cajon Police Sgt. Kevin Reilly says a woman walked in with a request.

“She requested to see the necklaces that were in the display in front of her, and they were gold necklaces,” said Sgt. Reilly.

Sources tell ABC 10News she was well put together, from her makeup to a stylish hot pink jacket. She mentioned she was an ‘influencer,’ and she was draped in diamonds, from diamond rings and a bracelet to a necklace.

Police say the store employee took out several necklaces from a display.

“The jewelry is pulled out for her to try on. At one point, she steps away and makes a phone call on her cell phone. She returns back to the counter and informs the clerk that she’ll take it, and then she grabs the handful of jewelry and runs out of the business,” said Sgt. Reilly.

Investigators say the woman made off with $36,000 in gold necklaces.

Long Stratton High School pupil sent home over earrings

Posted on 09/11/2025 By Syifa

Year 11 Milly Turner, who attends Long Stratton High School, arrived at school for the new term with a freshly pierced ear – which she had done over the summer holidays.

But after being told her new piercing contravened the school’s uniform policy, her mother said she was given two options – either go home or spend the day “in isolation”.

Mel Turner said the 15-year-old had intended on removing the new piercing before going to school, but that when they took it out the night before the wound continued to weep.

Eastern Daily Press:

She had hoped the school would allow it to remain in until it was properly healed – at which point she would stop wearing it.

The school’s uniform policy allows pupils to wear one studded earring in each ear and forbids wearing hoops or dangling earrings.

Because Milly already had her two earlobes pierced, the third piercing in her helix was not permitted.

Ms Turner said: “She has always said she would take them out when they were healing, so we had hoped the school would be able just to show some common sense and give her some leeway.

“I feel it has all got a bit silly

Police arrest 2 men in connection to jewelry store safe theft

Posted on 27/10/2025 By Syifa

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities didn’t take long to track down the assailants behind a high-priced heist at a Miami-Dade jewelry store.

Police arrested 37-year old Ariel Hernandez Tuesday on burglary and grand theft charges, and his alleged accomplice, Michel Avila Delanuez, has also been booked on similar charges but is being treated at Palmetto General Hospital following their sudden takedown.

Police believe the men were involved in the major heist of a jewelry store that was caught on video in northwest Miami-Dade on Monday.

The thieves carved a hole through a neighboring business and destroyed the security alarm system.

“It looks like they brought a device to cut off the signals,” Adrianna Prieto, of C4G Jewelers, told Local 10 News.

From there, the bandits ransacked the room and set their target on a safe with roughly $1 million worth of valuables inside, store owners said.

The crooks used a hook and a steel cable from a stolen tow truck that was parked right out front to latch onto the large safe, and after some maneuvering, they yanked the safe right through the front door before speeding away.

Employees spent much of the day repairing the damage and cleaning up
