BHUBANESWAR: Most of the jewelry stores in the city witnessed heavy crowds on the occasion of Dhanteras on Friday. People visit their nearby jewelry shops to purchase gold, silver, diamond, gemstones and other jewelry items. Jewelry shop owners said the response was very warm this year and the day’s business may surpass that of the 2022 Dhanteras.
People believe that purchasing gold on Dhanteras is auspicious; that’s why they visit jewelry shops to purchase gold and other jewelry items on Friday.Even people purchase a small piece of gold coin to mark the occasion. Most of the shops in the capital city were seen crowded and the jewelery brands reported bumper sales on Friday.
Unlike normal days, customers were waiting to pay their bill at the store after purchasing any gold, silver or other jewelery items on Friday. Shops have also made arrangements by engaging more staff and payment counters to handle the crowd.
