Is NIO Stock (NYSE:NIO) a Diamond in the Rough? Probably Not

Posted on 05/12/2025 By Syifa

Fewer companies have endured a sharper decline in their share prices since the pandemic than NIO (NYSE:NIO). The electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer has failed to deliver on great promises, and it’s arguable that its proprietary battery-swapping technology is no longer as useful as it once was, given the advances in charging technology. I’m no longer bullish on NIO stock, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see near-term volatility as investors digest production data and news.

Not Delivering on Promises

Around two years ago, I argued that NIO, considering its growth trajectory and valuation metrics, was among the best buys in the sector. The firm had been on something of a Tesla-esque (NASDAQ:TSLA) growth cycle. However, it was underdelivered, partially due to supply chain constraints as China imposed prolonged COVID-19 restrictions, and it is continuing to do so.

In 2023, NIO delivered 160,038 vehicles, up 30.66% year-over-year. While that might sound like impressive growth, NIO delivered 91,429 vehicles in 2021, representing 109.1% year-over-year growth.

It’s clear that the pace of growth is slowing, while NIO’s peers are surging despite already being ahead in volume terms. Li Auto (NASDAQ:LI) reported that total deliveries in 2023 increased

I turned my wedding ring into a gorgeous ‘divorce ring’ — just like Emily Ratajkowski

Posted on 04/12/2025 By Syifa

The word “divorce” certainly doesn’t have a nice ring to it.

And when Lauren Boc’s ex-husband unexpectedly demanded one in October, just four months after they’d tied the knot, the heartbroken Brooklynite found herself in a painfully dark place.

But rather than sulk into the gloominess of sudden singleness, the artsy millennial decided to brighten things up a bit.

Boc tells The Post that her divorce ring symbolizes her strength and self-compassion. Courtesy of Stacey Doyle Photography

“I custom made my own divorce ring,” Boc, 35, of Fort Greene, told The Post of her 18-carat yellow gold loop boasting a 4-carat Ascher-cut, lab-grown diamond.

Her brilliant bauble is loosely inspired by her $6,000 art deco style engagement ring, featuring emerald caliber-cut stones haloing a 1.75-carat round rock. Its luxe look, too, is a nod to a platinum 3.7-carat emerald cut ring the brunette designed and engraved to wear on her right hand during her June 2023 nuptials.

And she’s far from the only divorcée to deck herself out in “we’re done” diamonds.

Emily Ratajkowski is ringing in her single status with a pair of 3-carat rings redesigned from the Toi-Et-Moi engagement ring, which features two hulking stones. She and ex-hubby,

‘Sasumata’ in high demand after thwarted jewelry store robbery in Tokyo

Posted on 03/12/2025 By Syifa

Two 18-year-olds have surrendered to police after attempting to rob a jewelry store in Tokyo. The incident took place in the Ueno district of the capital on Sunday. Footage taken by a bystander showing an employee chasing three suspects away is creating a buzz in Japan. What many viewers are interested in is the unusual tool the employee used — a traditional Japanese weapon called sasumataa long forked polearm.

Now, an auto parts manufacturer that produces sasumata has become pending with orders and inquiries.

What is sasumata?

Sasumata is a protective weapon in the form of a forked polearm. Its history dates back to the Edo period (17th-19th century) when it was used to capture criminals. Today, police and various institutions and businesses are trained in the use of defensive weapons. Many schools in Japan are also equipped with them.

A college sports star’s conspicuous spending spree was once cause for an NCAA investigation. But now that student athletes are allowed to profit off their name, image and license (NIL), that’s clearly not an issue these days.

Take Colorado football star Travis Hunter, an All-American cornerback so athletically gifted that he moonlights as a wide receiver for coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes.

In past years, players like Hunter had to wait to turn pro before they could go out and buy extravagant gifts for their loved ones. But as seen in a recent video posted on Hunter’s YouTube channel, he had no problems buying his mother’s dream home in Savannah, Georgia.

‘Great news and a great update,’ he said in the recently posted video. ‘We just got my mom a house. We just got approved. We’re gonna surprise her.’

A month later, Hunter and his

Prime determinants of growth

The most used method for making lab grown diamonds is the chemical vapor disposition method, also known as the CVD method, which was invented in the 1980s. This method has become increasingly popular due to the lower costs of production and reduction in space required for houses such as machines. The high-pressure high temperature or HPHT method, which was invented in the 1950s is still used to produce lab grown diamonds, however, is now being slowly overtaken by chemical vapor deposition (CVD). These methods of diamond production are much more environmentally friendly compared to mining of natural diamonds. In addition,

Saturn’s Rings Will Temporarily Disappear From View in 2025 | SmartNews

Saturn, with its rings appearing brighter than the planet and three moons to the left of the planet.

The popular conception of Saturn is virtually inseparable from its majestic rings. But in a little over a year, skywatchers won’t be able to see these iconic structures: In 2025, Saturn’s rings will be invisible from Earth for several months.

Fortunately, this isn’t a sign of a planetary apocalypse. Rather, it’s a matter of simple physics.

“While it’s true the rings will become almost invisible from Earth in 2025, this is neither a surprise nor a reason to panic,” Jonti Horner, an astrophysicist at the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, wrote in the Conversation.

Why won’t Saturn’s rings be visible?

In reality, it all has to do with planetary alignment. Saturn’s rings are so thin that they seem to vanish when viewed edge-on. And as Earth and Saturn travel around the sun on their respective orbital paths, our planet reaches this particular vantage point like clockwork, roughly every 13 to 16 years.

Honor’s Smart Ring Is Coming for Oura, Too

Posted on 29/11/2025 By Syifa

After Samsung’s surprise announcement of a Galaxy Ring this year, Chinese company Honor said it’ll launch its own smart ring, called the Honor Ring, as early as this year.

“Internally, we have this kind of solution, now we are working on that part, so in the future you can have the Honor Ring,” CEO George Zhao told CNBC, which first reported the news, at Mobile World Congress on Tuesday.

That future Zhao referred to is coming soon. Honor later told CNET its high-tech ring will be released before the end of 2024. The Chinese company’s upcoming entry into the burgeoning smart ring market means consumers will have more choices in a wearables category dominated by a few key players. Celebrity favorite Oura is currently the most prominent player, with new entrant Evie, who focuses on women’s health, vying to grab some market share.

Samsung’s Galaxy Ring, which was physically shown off at MWC this week, is rumored to arrive as early as this year. Apple is also rumored to be experimenting with the idea of a smart ring, according to Bloomberg.

Chances are Honor’s ring will follow the lead of smart rings already on the market, and track a wearer’s

Jegpeek:NASA’s Webb Rings in the Holidays with the Ringed Planet Uranus

Posted on 27/11/2025 By Syifa

NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope recently trained its sights on unusual and enigmatic Uranus, an ice giant that spins on its side. Webb captured this dynamic world with rings, moons, storms, and other atmospheric features – including a seasonal polar cap. The image expands upon a two-color version released earlier this year, adding additional wavelength coverage for a more detailed look.

With its exquisite sensitivity, Webb captured Uranus’ dim inner and outer rings, including the elusive Zeta ring – the extremely faint and diffuse ring closest to the planet. It also depicted many of the planet’s 27 known moons, even seeing some small moons within the rings.

In visible wavelengths as seen by Voyager 2 in the 1980s, Uranus appeared as a placid, solid blue ball. In infrared wavelengths, Webb is revealing a strange and dynamic ice world filled with exciting atmospheric features.

One of the most striking of these is the planet’s seasonal north polar cloud cap. Compared to the Webb image from earlier this year, some details of the cap are easier to see in these newer images. These include the bright, white, inner cap and the dark lane in the bottom of the polar cap, toward the

Why will Saturn’s rings briefly ‘disappear’ from view in 2025? | Explained News

Posted on 26/11/2025 By Syifa

One of the most spectacular sights in the Solar System is the majestic ringed planet Saturn, which is clearly visible in the evening sky through a telescope. In 2025, however, Saturn’s rings will seemingly disappear from view.

It isn’t as if the planet will lose them forever. The rings will just be invisible from Earth and will reappear soon thereafter. The reason for this temporary disappearance has to do with Saturn’s tilt and an optical illusion.

Why will Saturn’s rings be invisible from Earth?

Like Earth’s axis of rotation, which is tilted by 23.5 degrees, Saturn’s axis of rotation has a 26.7 degree tilt — its enormous ring system is also tilted to the plane of Saturn’s orbit. As a result, when Saturn revolves around the Sun, it seems to nod up and down when viewed from Earth and the view of its rings also keeps changing.

Saturn rings. This animation demonstrates the 29.5-year orbital period of Saturn by opposition date, as well as the dramatic changes in the orientation of the planet’s ring disk. The ring system revolves around a fixed axis, so both sides of the ring disk are visible from Earth during each period in which Saturn orbits
