Mark Fearon took to X (formerly Twitter) to plea for help to find his fiancée’s new ring after it got lost over St Patrick’s weekend.

He mentioned that they only had the engagement ring for two days before it was lost.

The ring was on her finger but was too loose and had been removed in the hope that would keep it safer.

Mark claimed that the ring was left behind in a Dublin Taxi and he had no trace of the driver’s details as he only paid in cash and received no receipt.

The couple got the silver taxi from Baggot St at around midnight on March 16, the day before St Patrick’s Day.

Pandora Now Only Sources Recycled Metals for Its Jewelry

Posted on 24/12/2025 By Syifa

Pandora, known for its affordable sterling-silver charm bracelets, is the world’s largest jewelry company by volume: The Danish chain sells more than 100 million pieces annually. This week, it announced that it is now sourcing only 100-percent-recycled silver and gold for its collections.

The move was touted as an important step by a massive company to reduce its environmental footprint. “We wanted to lead by example,” Pandora’s chief executive, Alexander Lacik, said in an interview. “If we can make positive contributions to society through our use of recycled gold and silver, it means anyone can do it.”

By working with metals that have already been mined, Pandora won’t be digging deeper in search of new materials, allowing the company to substantially reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. Mining requires more energy and resources than recycling and is a leading source of mercury pollution. In a 2020 news release announcing its shift to recycled metals, Pandora cited statistics from the World Gold Council and other entities showing that the process of recycling gold reduces emissions by about 99 percent compared to mining it, while recycling silver reduces carbon emissions by about 66 percent compared to mining it.

Posted on 21/12/2025 By Syifa

HIALEAH, FLA. (WSVN) – A man and woman involved in an armed robbery in Hialeah were arrested after nearly a month of detectives searching for the criminals.

Hialeah Police took 55-year-old Lourdes Diaz and 24-year-old Julian Flores into custody in connection with the Sept. 16 robberies, during which the victim was targeted outside her beauty salon, and a large amount of gold jewelry was stolen.

A police report stated that the victim was leaving her beauty salon, located at 7751 W 28th Ave. She was in the process of loading a large box containing valuable gold jewelry into her 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe when she was approached by Flores.

“The mother was befriending the victim, asking her questions, ‘How much jewelry do you carry? How much does this cost? Can I see? Would you bring it to me to see it,’” said Hialeah Police Officer Scarlett Hernandez. “And then wait for her for the perfect opportunity to be able to batter her, scare her to death and take the jewelry.”

According to the arrest report, Flores forcefully attempted to snatch the victim’s luggage, hitting her hand with the firearm.

What Are These Mysterious Dark ‘Spokes’ on Saturn’s Rings? | SmartNews

An image of Saturn and its rings

A new photo of Saturn from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope captures mysterious dark blotches that appear on the planet’s rings. Called “ring spokes,” the circles spot Saturn along with its signature bands of icy debris.

Scientists have known about ring spokes for decades, but they’re still not positive where they come from.

“The leading theory is that the spokes are tied to Saturn’s powerful magnetic field, with some sort of solar interaction with the magnetic field that gives you the spokes,” Amy Simon, a NASA planetary scientist and lead scientist for Hubble’s Outer Planet Atmospheres Legacy (OPAL ) program, says in a statement from NASA.

The agency’s Voyager 2 space probe first imaged Saturn’s ring spokes in 1981, and the Cassini spacecraft also observed the mysterious phenomenon while studying the gas giant between 2004 and 2017.

But Voyager 2 left the solar system roughly five years ago, and NASA deliberately ended Cassini’s mission by crashing the probe into Saturn in

7 News needs your help solving a mystery! Our investigative producer here at the station found some very valuable items while she was hiking with her dogs. Now she — and the Concord Police Department — are trying to return them to their owner.

“I was walking my dogs right here along White Pond that was really warm Saturday a couple of weeks ago,” Mary said.

Mary Schwager and her Labradors were hiking along the southwest side of White Pond in Concord on October 28th.

“And there were two women right here. They had a beach bag. I chatted with them for just a split second. They met my dogs and a few minutes later, they left,” Mary said.

Soon after, Mary found something very valuable right here on the beach.

“We walked right over here, and I looked down, and I saw a watch and two rings, and I thought, ‘Oh no! I wonder if this fell out of their beach bag?’ So I took the items, and I ran back up and down the trail trying to see if I could catch the women, but they were long gone.”

Mary brought the valuables to the Concord Police Department.

Vancouver Island jewelry dealer targeted by thieves for 22nd time – BC

Posted on 18/12/2025 By Syifa

A Vancouver Island jewelry dealer says he’s taking a hard look at whether he wants to stay in business, after being broken into yet again.

Jeff Ross, who owns Gold Silver Guy shops in Nanaimo, Qualicum and Duncan, said the break-in Tuesday night was his 22nd in 25 years and the fifth this year alone.

What’s more, this is the third time thieves have been able to get into one of his shops through an unconventional method, and one he has little to no defense against.

The thieves, he said, were able to break through a wall of concrete cinder blocks at his Qualicum location, before cutting out the security system and eventually breaking into the safe.
